✅ why you need this writing tip
|
At the end of every Momentum Mastermind and Book Liftoff session, I ask writers to do one thing before we say goodbye. Set a mini goal for the week. Just one small, doable thing. And we do the same thing at every Write With Us Retreat at the beginning of the three cowriting sessions. I do this on purpose. Here's why: big goals are beautiful, but life happens. And when life interrupts a big goal, it's easy to feel shame about how long it's taking. That shame is heavy, and it makes us avoid the very thing we love. Mini goals work differently. They give us faster dopamine hits, which actually make us want to take the next step. Progress builds on progress. Momentum is a real thing. So today I want to offer you the same practice. What is your one MINI writing goal for this week? Hit reply right now and tell me. Seriously, before you do anything else. Just one small thing, one sentence, sent to my inbox. And then when you do it? Email me again. I want to celebrate with you. If you want to practice this in a room full of writers who are doing the same thing, our next Write With Us Retreat is July 18th. It's one of my favorite monthly events. We start with Scripture and a spiritual practice because God writes with us!. Then we set our mini goals and write (x3)
But first, hit reply. Tell me your mini goal. Stay curious and keep writing,
